GEORGE AND PEGGY RAPP ENDOWMENT FUND

Created through generous, sustaining gifts the Hoosier Art Salon will continue to grow this fund though contributions and planned giving.  Ultimately, income from this fund will support an executive director and support staff, ensuing continuity and growth into the future.

Contributions enable us to introduce new exhibitions, increase cash awards, and offer financial support to the visual arts community.

GIVING TUESDAY IS DECEMBER 3, 2024

The Hoosier Art Salon is a nonprofit organization that works actively to build bridges in underserved populations and communities, promoting artists of all ages and backgrounds.

Since 1925, Hoosier Art Salon’s mission has been to deliver Indiana’s premier visual arts exhibition to showcase the state’s broad range of established and rising artists. The Hoosier Art Salon celebrates this mission with the upcoming Giving Tuesday movement! Giving Tuesday provides a great opportunity for individuals to support their communities. Please consider joining us this year with a donation to help us facilitate the arts in ours and surrounding communities!

Ways your donation will support the Hoosier Art Salon:

The historic Hoosier Art Salon Annual Exhibition – One of Indiana’s longest-running art exhibitions showcasing paintings, drawings, prints, ceramics, sculpture, glass creations and more at the Indiana State Museum. Some of the most notable artists have exhibited at the Annual Exhibition.

The Hoosier Art Salon New Harmony Gallery – The New Harmony Gallery is the only standing location left of the Hoosier Art Salon. Donations help with the building costs, upgrades, maintenance, volunteer benefits, etc. Several exhibits of the New Harmony Gallery award participating artists with cash prizes.

The Hoosier Art Salon Online Gallery – All exhibit participating artists are given the opprotunity to sell their pieces through the Hoosier Art Salon online storefront. Our online gallery reaches thousands of potential buyers and art collectors around the world! We’ve even had sales in Australia!

The famous First Brush of Spring April 23 -26, 2025 – This exciting event invites Plein-Air painters from across the country to experience the beauty of New Harmony, IN, and capture its essence on canvas! This three-day event features several competitions, a Field to Finish exhibit, receptions, art sales, and more. It attracts hundreds of artists, first-time buyers, and esteemed collectors from around the nation. Hosted by the Hoosier Art Salon (HAS), Indiana Plein Air Painters Association (IPAPA), and the residents of New Harmony, the event relies on the generosity of local volunteers who contribute their time, energy, and resources to this wonderful cause.

Workshops – Workshops provide professional, amateur, and student artists with opportunities to enhance and perfect their skills at any level. HAS also contributes to the travel and lodging costs of the instructor.

Children’s Activities – The HAS hosts summer art camps, elementary exhibits, and high school senior art shows to kids of all ages located in Posey County. We rely on volunteers to set up camp supplies, supervise the children, help with activities, etc. HAS supplies all the materials needed for summer art camps.
